UNDERGROUND

Underground is the exploration of my experiences as a Black woman living in Washington, DC on January 6, 2021. What began as an op-ed in Newsweek turned into a digital story completed as a part of a workshop with StoryCenter.

In 2025, on the eve of Donald Trump’s second inauguration, I created space for Black women living and working in the DC area on January 6, 2021 to collectively give voice to their own stories from that day. The resulting visual and sound art from those stories is a work-in-progress.
